Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, is recognised as one of Asia’s Most Influential Leaders 2026 in the SpeakIn Power List™. The Department oversees India’s public sector banks, financial institutions and insurance companies.

A 1994-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, he took charge as Secretary on 1 June 2026. Earlier roles include Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam, Director in the Prime Minister’s Office and Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Mines. He is a government nominee director on the boards of the Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India and LIC.
