Sanjay Malhotra, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, is recognised as one of Asia’s Most Influential Leaders 2026 in the SpeakIn Power List™. He took charge as the 26th Governor of the central bank on 11 December 2024.

A 1990-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, he previously served as Revenue Secretary and as Financial Services Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. His experience spans power, finance, taxation and information technology, including as Chairman and Managing Director of Rural Electrification Corporation.

He is a graduate of IIT Kanpur and holds a Master in Public Policy from Princeton University. His inclusion in the Power List recognises his contribution to India’s financial sector.
